A HILL OF BEATH man has been sentenced for an assault which left the victim suffering a permanent disfigurement.
The injured man was repeatedly punched, knocked to the ground and kicked on the head.
Mark Smith, 30, of Torbeith Gardens, Hill of Beath, was found guilty after a trial at Dunfermline Sheriff Court in August.
He was convicted of a charge that on June 11 last year, at Geatons Road, Lochgelly, he assaulted his victim by repeatedly punching him on the head, causing him to fall to the ground and thereafter kicked him on the head to his injury and permanent disfigurement.
Sheriff Alison McKay imposed a community payback order with 250 hours of unpaid work. She also ordered Smith to pay £1,000 compensation.
