STORM Ali showed that community spirit definitely isn’t dead in Cardenden last week.
Police officers in Cowdenbeath have thanked residents who helped them clear the road when a tree had become the latest victim of the wild weather.
Sergeant Caine McIntyre said they were called to a report of a large tree branch blocking the footpath and part of Station Road on Wednesday afternoon.
He explained: “The tree was too big for officers to deal with. Fortunately a local resident came to help and was able to use his chainsaw to cut it into pieces. We were then able to move the pieces and clear the footpath and road.
“There was a great community spirit in Cardenden during the stormy weather. We really appreciated the assistance of local residents who turned up and helped to make the footpath and road safe.”
