COWDENBEATH'S scout group has a mini bus which is available for use by community groups.

The 46th Fife Scout Group have bought a 17-seat mini bus not only for the Scout Group to use but other community groups within the Cowdenbeath / Crossgates locality.

The project set the Scout Group £5,000 of their fund in addition to a grant from the Coalfields Regenerations Fund of £3,000.

Graham Gilbert, the Group Scout Leader of the 46th Fife, said: “We not only wanted to provide lower cost transport for our own boys and girls but to offer the minibus to other local groups of all ages and interests. "We plan to offer the minibus on a not for profit price basis.”

The minibus has fully adjustable lap & diagonal seat belts to fit people of any age from pre-school to adult. The minibus is insured for all drivers 25 and over who have a category D1 or D1 (not for hire or reward) driving licence and has full breakdown cover in case of any difficulties.

The scouts are anxious that the organisations are aware of the availability of the bus.
