BENARTY Community Forum and Community Council joined forces to help make improvements happen at Lochore Meadows Country Park to aid children and adults with disabilities.

The new Drivedeck mechanism makes it possible to access the area from the Willie Clarke Centre to the Outdoor Activity Centre and Water Sports facilities.

Benarty Community Forum were delighted to be handing over a cheque to the Drivedeck project at the Meedies.

Some of the group members met up with young Kieva, and her mum Katie, on Friday at the Park to hand over the cheque for £500.

On behalf of the Forum, Michael O'Hare, said: "This is a fantastic project that will enable children and young people with complex needs, and hopefully will be extended for use by adults to be able to become inclusive to some of the park amenities.

"It was a pleasure to meet young Kieva and see the smile on her face. A young girl who just takes everything in her stride, a credit to her mum".

The group have had some finance and wanted to put it to something that would make a difference to a worthwhile project for the young and to anyone else who could benefit from the Drivedeck being installed on a permanent basis at the park. At the moment it is only on loan at the Meadows.

Michael added: "Hopefully the donation from the group will help attract further contributions from all over Fife as the park is well used, not only by the local community but from people all over the county".

There was also a cheque for £100 handed over from kitchen company, Brooklyn Kitchens.
