KINGLASSIE Councillor Julie Ford, Depute Provost of Fife, was delighted to be invited to officially open the National Play Day event hosted by Fife Council's Early Years team.
This is an annual event which rotates around different locations in Fife. This year's location was the Beveridge Park in Kirkcaldy. It hosted many different stalls and activities, for all ages - babies right up to adults.
Commenting after the event, Julie Ford said: "When thinking about this event, I asked my 6 year old niece and 4 year old nephew why play is so important to them. And they're answers were compelling. My niece said it helps her learn and makes her active. My nephew said it helps him make friends, feel included and gives him freedom."
