MID Scotland & Fife MSP Alex Rowley has commended the record-breaking visitor numbers at RSPB Scotland Loch Leven and urges people to experience it themselves by paying a visit to the nature reserve.

The nature reserve, on the north side of Benarty Hill, has surpassed 70,000 visitors in the last year and is anticipating greater numbers to come in the years ahead.

The RSPB site has trails through the local woodland to the top of Vane Hill for spectacular views over the loch, as well as a wetland trail with tree hides and viewing screens to allow people to get up and close to nature.

There is also an award-winning café serving home-made ethical food throughout the year.

Speaking about the site Mr Rowley said: “This is a wonderful place for all the family to visit, and I would encourage as many people as possible to attend.

"It has marvellous panoramic views of Loch Leven with plenty for kids to enjoy too with a natural play area and various family activities.”

Vane Farm is less than 15 minutes drive from the Benarty area and less than half an hour from Cowdenbeath so it can be easily reached.
