A MAN has denied causing an accident on the Cardenden-Kinglassie road which saw people injured.

Mark Taylor, from Kirkcaldy, has denied causing the accident, which involved three vehicles, on the B921, in August 2016.

On Monday Taylor told the trial at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court that he saw a Jaguar car coming round the bend which he said had drifted into his lane before clipping his car and causing what he described as 'an almighty bang'.

Taylor said that it was the driver of the Jaguar who had caused the collision.

As he approached the corner the Jaguar had come around it at a rate of speed and drifted on to his side of the road. He had been taking his daughter to a doctor's appointment in Ballingry and was doing between 40mph and 45mph.

Taylor claimed that half of the length of of the Jaguar was on his side of the road.

He also said soon after he heard another loud band which was his car colliding with a Citroen.

The Fiscal Depute asked Taylor if his taking the corner too fast could have caused his car to drift onto the wrong side of the road but he denied that.

After the accident he was airlifted to hospital suffering from serious injuries.

The Court also heard how police witnesses had stated that the Jaguar was on the correct side of the road when the accident occurred.

The accident also saw the driver of Citroen injured along with a passenger and the driver of the Jaguar sustained minor injuries.

The trial is scheduled to continue on Thursday August 9.
