A WOMAN caused a disturbance at the home of her former partner in Dunfermline and then struggled with police when she was arrested.

Deborah Hateley, 40, was living at a women's aid refuge at the time of the incident.

Hateley, formerly of Nasmyth Place, Kelty, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

She admitted that on April 27 at Osprey Crescent, Dunfermline, she behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by attending and entering uninvited, shouted, swore and acted aggressively.

She also admitted resisting, obstructing and hindering three police officers and struggling violently with them.

Depute fiscal, Jennifer Graham, said that the couple had been separated for two years at the time.

At 9.30pm Hateley appeared in her former partner’s house and she became irritated, shouting and swearing.

The police arrived around 10.15pm and Hateley was arrested. She refused to acknowledge this and began struggling violently, lashing out with her arms and legs.

Defence solicitor, Selina Mackay, said her client had been living in a women’s aid refuge at the time of the incident.

She had phoned to speak to her children but the phone had been put down on her.

She then went around to the property to see the kids.

There was then an argument and neighbours came into the house to calm down the situation.

“She was under considerable stress at the time,” she added.

Sheriff Shead fined Hateley £300.
