A KELTY man, who threatened to smash the face of his former partner, has been sentenced at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
James Callaghan, 33, now of Beechbank Crescent, admitted that on June 10 at Blair Street, Kelty, he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing and acting aggressively towards his former partner.
He made offensive remarks and threats of violence towards her.
Depute fiscal, Jennifer Graham, said the couple had been in a relationship for nine years.
“They were at home at around 6.30pm when he began calling her names. She said she intended splitting up with him and he became angry,” she added.
Callaghan then told her: “I can’t wait to smash your little face in.”
The police were contacted by a friend of his now ex-partner.
The Court was told Callaghan had no previous convictions, his behaviour had been “out of character” and he felt “very embarrassed and extremely remorseful” about his actions.
Sheriff Chris Shead said: “The nature of the threat was a nasty one”. He fined Callaghan £225.
