A KELTY woman has attributed her recent downfall in behaviour, including an assault on a police officer, to problems with alcohol.

Lynsey Stewart appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court after acting violently at her family home and at a neighbour's address.

The 30-year-old, of Blackhall Square, Kelty, previously admitted that on June 5, at Loch Leven Terrace, she behaved in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause fear or alarm in that she did shout, swear and behave in an aggressive manner, and she did assault a police constable then in the execution of his duty and did attempt to kick him.

Also, on June 23, at Blackhall Square, she behaved in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause fear or alarm in that she did attend at the home of another female, shouted, swore, uttered offensive remarks and threats of violence and acted in an aggressive manner towards the woman.

Defence solicitor Alexander Flett explained that police were called to her mother's address where Stewart was making a lot of noise. Stewart was invited into a neighbour's home before also causing problems there on June 23. On both occasions, she was under the influence of alcohol.

Sheriff Craig McSherry placed her on a community payback order with 12 months' supervision and a restriction of liberty order for four months, whereby she will have to stay within her home address between the hours of 7pm and 7am.
