IT is an exciting time for the Benarty based Kingdom Off Road Motorcycle Club

The club, whose track is situated between Benarty and Portmoak, helps young riders learn to respect their machines and to avoid using them in parks and other unsuitable places.

The club has been successful in reaching the final stages of the National Lottery Awards and has also received funding from the Westfield Wind Farm.

Said KORMC's David Paton: "We were at the Benarty Gala recently, and enjoyed the parade and managed to chat with a lot of kids and parents who have off-road motorbikes.

"One local guy won our Bike Balance competition and is now coming up for a day at our track on one of our off-road bikes!

"We are also very happy to announce that we have been awarded £2,000 from the Westfield Wind Farm and Benarty Community Trust."

Added David: "We have recently purchased a motorbike, which is suitable for young people from about 9 years to 16, depending on their weight and height. This bike will be prioritised for people from the Benarty area.

"Riders can simply book the bike upon proving that they live in the Benarty area. They will have to join our club, which only costs £15 per year or £20 for a parent and Child.
