KEEPING Cardenden looking good all the year round will be made that bit easier for the village's Environment Group after the success of theirlatest fundraiser.

CEG held a very successful fund raising event with a strawberry afternoon tea in Auchterderran Church Hall raising over £1,000 for their community floral enhancements in Cardenden, Auchterderran, Bowhill and Dundonald.

The CEG have a loyal band of volunteers who undertake their projects and they were to the fore at the Strawberry Tea.

Said CEG's Mary Murdoch: "I would like to thank everyone who volunteered their time and energy because this was a really busy day.

"Also to all the gratefully received donations from the likes of Dave's Diner, Boots Chemist Bowhill, The Carpet Mill, Morrison's Cowdenbeath, Bayne's Bakers, Bed and Pine Centre, Community Growing Solutions and Ore Valley Housing Association, to name but a few, as the people of our village and surrounding communities were very generous.

"We hope to improve our floral enhancements throughout the ABCD area over the coming weeks".

The Group also ensures that at Christmas time the community garden is looking the part with excellent festive lighting.
