A LUMPHINNANS man has been jailed for a string of shoplifting offences.
Steven Carruthers, 47, of Robert Smith Court, appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on April 18, at Poundstretchers, High Street, Cowdenbeath, he stole a quantity of bedding.
On April 28, at the same shop, he again stole a quantity of bedding.
On May 11, at McColls, North Street, Lochgelly, he stole a quantity of meat.
The court was told that the total value of the goods was more than £290 and there was no recovery.
Carruthers had only been released from jail in January before going on his latest crime spree.
Defence solicitor Alexander Flett said his client had come off heroin but his partner still had a drug problem.
“He committed the offences to try to support her by buying her drugs,” he added.
Sheriff Craig McSherry jailed Carruthers for six months.
