POLICE have arrested a man following the recovery of a significant quantity of Class A drugs from an address in Lochgelly.

Local community officers, acting on intelligence, executed a search warrant in Watters Crescent on Monday.

Heroin and crack cocaine, with a combined estimated street value of over £57,000 along with almost £900 in cash and a conductive energy device were seized.

A 42-year-old man was subsequently charged in connection with this and was expected to appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

Inspector Gavin Cameron of Cowdenbeath Police Station said: "Our communities have told us that tackling drug crime remains a priority, and we continue to use all resources at our disposal to disrupt the sale and supply of illicit substances.

"We will not allow people to profit from putting others’ lives at risk and from causing disruption and concern to the community. We'd urge the public to continue to help us, as all the information we are given will be taken seriously."

Anyone wishing to report concerns over drugs in their area can contact their local community policing team via 101, or make an anonymous report to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
