THIS week's Down Memory Lane photos come from Lochgelly local history enthusiast Derek Johnstone.
He said: "Here are four from my collection of Bowhill Colliery. They are all from early 1900's and taken from different angles.
"It was a big big pit and was a huge part of life in the Cardenden area for well over 50 years."
The pictures capture the vastness of the Bowhill Colliery complex which dominated the entrance to the Auchterderran, Bowhill, Cardenden and Dundonald group of villages from the west.
If you have any old photographs you would like to see in our Down Memory Lane feature send them to editorial@centralfifetimes.co.uk or take them to the Times Office, 17 Bank Street, Lochgelly, on a Monday or a Friday.
