SHOUTING racial abuse at a man led to a court appearance for Kelty woman Shannon Mullen this week.
Appearing for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court yesterday (Wednesday), she had previously admitted that on May 4, she acted in a racially-aggressive manner which caused, or was intended to cause, alarm and distress to a person in respect that she shouted racially-abusive remarks at the man in Walker Street, Cowdenbeath.
Depute fiscal Jennifer Graham said Mullen, 22, of Croftangry Road, was heavily under the influence of alcohol and was making random conversations.
She began shouting abuse at the man including "you paki b*****d and dirty black b*****d".
Solicitor Gwen Haggerty said her client had a "high level" of mental health issues. She told the court that Mullen appeared to be compliant with structures in place for her within the community and the lapse was due to alcohol misuse.
Sheriff Christopher Shead deferred sentencing for six months for Mullen to be of good behaviour.
