A LOCHGELLY disabled driver has hit out at people who park 'inconsiderately' in the town after he was unable to get into his car at the Co-op Car Park, off Bank Street.

Robert Hunter said that a vehicle parked inconsiderately in a disabled parking bay at the rear of the Co-op meant he could not get back into his car after he had been shopping.

Said Mr Hunter: "I have a blue badge and use disabled parking bays because I need the extra area supplied by the chevron’s to allow my car door to open wide enough to be able to get my legs out by using a leg lifter.

"I was in the Co-op when this car parked in the right hand bay next to mine so when I came out to my car I was unable to get into mine because of the way the car was parked.

"When the driver came out I confronted him about it, and he said sorry and drove away".

He added: "Just because there was a blue badge in the front window doesn’t mean the driver can park anyway he or she wants too. There should be consideration shown at all times."
