A MUSICIAN from the Lochgelly-based Fife Youth Jazz Orchestra got the chance to pick up some tips from MOBO award winner YolanDa Brown recently.
Alexandra Boyd, 14, travelled to Glasgow for the teaching session and was able to show off her skills which she has learned since joining the Central Fife music group.
Mum Brenda said it was a memorable experience for the teenager.
"It was wonderful," she said. "She was showing her how to move the saxophone on stage and different things about improvisation."
Brenda has been amazed at the progress her daughter, who attends Dollar Academy, has made since joining the orchestra over four years ago.
"I think the requirement to start there is you can play three notes – although if you can't, they teach you it in the first session," she added. "She has got through all of her saxophone grades as a result of being there."
