GARY Locke is set to continue as Cowdenbeath manager.
The man who lost only three out of 13 matches after taking over in March has been persuaded to take over for the new season.
Club spokesman david Allan said last night (Thursday): "After successfully steering the club to safety at the end of last season, and following discussions with the board, we are very pleased indeed to confirm manager Gary Locke has agreed to a contract extension to cover season 2017/18. "Now we are looking ahead to build on the foundations set down by Gary and his team in the closing months of the season. "We also anticipate confirming details of some signings in the next few days."
That means that the experienced backroom team of Gary, Billy Brown and Neil (Zorro) Irvine will look to take Cowden forward next season and push for promotion from Ladbrokes League 2.
