THE magic of Disney is set to be sprinkled with musical stardust by a Central Fife dance group in Paris during the Easter weekend.

Centre Stage Dance Academy, which is based in Crossgates, will fly out to Disneyland next Friday ahead of performing at the world-famous resort during its 25th anniversary celebrations.

Led by principal tutor and academy founder, Louise Ferrier, 15 dancers aged between 5-14 will take part in the Perform in the Magic experience, which provides dance or performing arts schools with the chance to enjoy an on-stage performance within the Disney parks, after successfully auditioning last year.

Parents of the talented kids who will enjoy the trip of a lifetime were given a preview of the show, titled 'Lights, Camera, Dance', on Sunday at Kelty Community Centre, where Centre Stage also hold classes.

Louise said: "It was absolutely brilliant and the audience were very kind. They've been very supportive and have given us so much positive feedback, so it's great to see it all come together. I'm still buzzing!

"The title of our piece is 'Lights, Camera, Dance' and it's a 25-30 minute show that has a combination of musicals. It jumps from one to another and has different styles; there's a tap number in Aladdin, there's Legally Blonde and the big finale is from Hairspray. There's tap, jazz and some acro dancing that the little ones are doing.

"The kids started learning the show in August last year and have been rehearsing every Friday night, and have had three full-on Sunday rehearsals. They all enjoyed their performance and, touch wood, they'll be ready to do it all again! They're really excited."

She added: "We'll be performing over the Easter weekend at a theatre in Adventureland that seats 400 people. It's going to be big; it's an insane amount of people but I sat back and thought that their confidence has grown so much since we started. Their dancing has rocketed and they've bonded so well.

"They'll be doing a workshop with one of the top performers there and will learn a dance that they do, so it's very exciting."

Centre Stage offer a variety of classes for youngsters from 18 months and upwards, including acro dance, team performance, street dance and adult fitness classes.
