THE new visitor centre proposal for Lochore Meadows Country Park was this afternoon given the go-ahead by Fife Council's Executive Committee.
A proposal by Fife Council leader David Ross that the original plan to replace the current facility was carried by a 10-6 vote.
An ammendment proposed by the SNP Opposition that the current proposal be stopped was defeated.
The Conservatives also put forward an ammendment that the current proposal be stopped and the golf and football project go ahead and it received two votes.
The meeting saw considerd discussion on the topic, which has seen a lot of debate in the Benarty and Lochgelly communities, before the vote was taken.
