BENARTY History Preservation Group had a surprise guest last week when MSP Annabelle Ewing dropped in to see what the group was all about.
Annabelle showed a lot of interest in the group's activities, since in its inception in 2011.
Chairman Tony Zimni informed her of the recent local mining display, commemorating the anniversary of the Mary and Glencraig Colliery closures in 1966.
Members of the group who were involved with that display are pictured with Annabelle.
The group has also been involved with other local projects, such as historical information boards around the area and new versions of local area census from 1891 to 1911.
