COWDENBEATH High Street’s carriageway resurfacing and drainage repairs project starts on Monday.

The total project will see resurfacing south of the Fountain roundabout to the Perth Road roundabout with the works starting on Monday and is programmed to be completed by 17th April.

The Transportation Department’s Ian Jones, Lead Professional Network Management (South), said today, “In order to minimise disruption, the works will be undertaken in phases and to ensure we comply with H&S Legislation the majority of the works will be carried out under a series of Temporary Road Closures.

“The works will be undertaken by JH Civil Engineering Ltd and will form four phased.” Phase 1 will run from Monday to 15th March from the Library to Stenhouse Street. A temporary traffic diversion will be in operation and traffic will be diverted via Foulford Road, Old Perth Road and Stenhouse Street. Buses will also be diverted via Foulford Road, Hill Street and Stenhouse Street. A Temporary Parking Restriction Traffic Order will be in operation for the duration of the bus diversion. This will affect on street parking on Hill Street.

During this phase the resurfacing of Stenhouse Street junction will be undertaken over two Sundays – 8th and 15th March.
