BENARTY Events Group was delighted with the support received from the public for several ventures they organised over the festive period as they raised over £2000.

The Group had a busy December with their Santa’s parade, Christmas raffle and a fundraising event in Lochore Institute.

The Events Group had the fantastic Joe’s Band in Lochore Institute on Boxing Night and a big turn out had a fantastic night. The Group would like to thank Lochore Institute for the hire of the hall and their donations.

The Santa’s parade venture went well and over 250 people joining in with the parade and eventually gathering in Benarty Centre. This is where they held their Christmas raffle. The Events group would like to say thank-you to all who made donations, and to everyone who bought tickets both for the raffle and Joe’s band.

The total raised between the two events was £2335. A special thank-you goes to Mrs Fay Mackie for her kind donation of food hampers. The next event that the group is holding is a Race Night and Guest Artiste in the Craigie Bar on Saturday 28th March.

Said the Event’s Group chairman, Michael O’Hare, “Things went brilliantly and the support of the people of Benarty was outstanding.

“Now we are looking ahead to the coming race night which is an important part of our fundraising plans.

“If anyone would like to sponsor a race, requires a ticket or would like to purchase a horse, please contact one of the Events Group Committee.” Michael added that the the start of the Benarty Community Lottery would be coming very shortly.
