ELECTRIC blanket testing in this year revealed a high number of safety failures.
Some 22 events were held in towns including Cowdenbeath, Lochgelly and Cardenden, when 473 blankets were tested in total, with 228 (48%) considered to be unsafe.
Geoff Bates, Service Manager, expressed his concern, “The results show that people are continuing to risk their safety by using old, unsafe blankets. This represents a serious safety hazard.
“All the blankets that failed had the potential to cause serious injury.”
