NEW Year is just about to start so make your entertainment plans for 2020.

ONFife has just released its brochure for the new season and it’s packed with nearly 60 shows, exhibitions and events in Dunfermline and Lochgelly.

Musicals, drama, comedy, art, family events in libraries, museums, live music and movies – you’re going to have a busy diary ahead if you’re a culture vulture.

From the soaring melodies of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra’s Viennese Gala (January 10) to Herman’s Hermits 55th Anniversary Tour (March 15), and from the drama of The Ghosting of Rabbie Burns (February 1) to the comedy of Gary Faulds (May 16), there’s a packed programmed at Carnegie Hall.

Add to that The Skids Unplugged (April 19) and the ever-popular HM Band of Royal Marines new season of performances, and you will be spoiled for choice.

And returning once again are the monthly Comedy Cafes, bringing top names and new talent to ever growing comedy audience who have discovered these great shows on their doorstep.

At the Lochgelly Centre the exhibition Jennie Lee: From Lochgelly to the Lords looks at the life of the town’s own pioneering 20th century MP and Minister (on until March 6). To mark the end of the exhibition there will be rehearsed reading performance of a new play, Jennie Lee: Tomorrow is a New Day, which explores the political life of the famous Fifer (March 5).

On the music front, Lochgelly will be presenting as diverse shows as A Tribute to Ariana & JoJo (February 13) and Something About Simon – The Paul Simon Story (February29).

The Great Fife Road Show 50th Anniversary Concert (January 18) is a special night not to miss and will be bringing together members of the star-studded folksong-based troupe who first got together in 1969 – including Maureen (Chalmers) Blyth, Davie Craig, Barbara Dickson, Noel Farrow, Cilla Fisher, Jim Herd, Jimmy Hutchison, Brian Miller, Rab Noakes, Davey Stewart and Artie Trezise.

There will be fun galore for the youngest audiences with The Whirlybird (ages 3-7, February 15) and Anonymouse (ages 0-5, April 17).
