IN 1969 the initial outings of the, now legendary, Great Fife Road Show took place.

In 1970 a major tour of Scotland was undertaken. In celebration of this 50th Anniversary, all surviving members of the star-studded folksong-based troupe, Maureen (Chalmers) Blyth, Davie Craig, Barbara Dickson, Noel Farrow, Cilla Fisher, Jim Herd, Jimmy Hutchison, Brian Miller, Rab Noakes, Davey Stewart and Artie Trezise, will celebrate the occasion with a Special Event concert at The Lochgelly Centre on Saturday January 18.

There’ll be old favourites, new songs, old jokes and a tribute to John Watt, a man who did so much good work in Benarty in the 1980s and 90s encouraging people to express their talents.

Don’t miss this one-off event celebrating Fife’s Entertainment (finest in the country).

It is a rare mix of talent, for instance husband and wife Cilla Fisher and Artie Trezise started touring as a folk singing duo in the mid-1970s and they later became involved in the famous children's entertainers group The Singing Kettle.

Rab Noakes has a particular affinity for the Lochgelly Centre with the Cupar singer and musician being someone who is very proud of the Kingdom.

Barbara Dickson recently put on a special show at the Carnegie Hall as part of the Andrew Carnegie celebrations, it will be some event at the Centre.
