MUSIC, comedy, drama, exhibitions and events – not to mention the always hugely popular Christmas panto – are all lined up and ready to go in ONFife’s spectacular season ahead.

The new What’s ONFife brochure, dropping though letterboxes and available at all ONFife locations is packed with exciting things to do right across the Kingdom over the coming months, covering theatres, galleries, libraries and museums.

The music offering is truly inclusive with something for everyone, from actor –in TV’s Red Dwarf and Death in Paradise – singer and dancer Danny John-Jules’s show I’ve Got To Be Me (November 22) celebrating the life of Sammy Davis Jnr to world-class opera, and from a comprehensive line-up of show-stopping tribute acts to avant garde performers such as Amanda Palmer (November 1).

Tribute nights have soared in popularity in recent years and this season ONFife has brought together the biggest ever programme of tribute bands and acts. The programme includes Whitney: Queen of the Night (September 5), which is a stunning celebration of the life and music of the most highly awarded female singer in the world. T

Striking a different note is ONFife’s fantastic new opera programme, including the introduction of Live from the Met screenings bringing world-class productions by the Met Opera in New York to the Adam Smith Theatre, Kirkcaldy. Productions include Turandot (October 15), Manon (October 31), Madam Butterfly (November 15) and Akhnaten (November 24). However, before then opera fans can delight at Opera Bohemia’s Merry Widow (August 20, also Adam Smith Theatre) and Scottish Opera Highlights (October 5, Carnegie Hall). Rounding off the programme is Fife Opera’s production of La Traviata (November 6-8) at the Adam Smith Theatre.

Not part of An Audience With… but following the theme will be Jimmy White, one of the most colourful characters in snooker and the world of sport, in conversation with BBC journalist Alex Belfield followed by an audience Q&A (September 1, Adam Smith Theatre).

On the subject of laughs, ONFife’s comedy programme is once again bringing top names and emerging talent to our doorsteps. Among the biggest performers taking to Fife stages are Stewart Francis (September 29), Sindhu Vee (October 3), Count Arthur Strong (October 12), Jane Godley (October 16) and Craig Hill (October 19) – various venues.

Mixing top quality laughs from nationally-known comedians and local talent are the monthly Comedy Cafes at Carnegie Hall, Lochgelly Centre, Adam Smith Theatre and Rothes Halls.
