THE incredible history of Fife .......is a new book tracing the story of Fife from earliest times to today is being launched at Adam Smith Theatre, Kirkcaldy on Wednesday June 19.
Authors - former MP for the Cowdenbeath-Lochgelly area and former Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, and former St. Andrews University Rector Alistair Moffat - will talk and answer questions about the story of Fife..... right through from a time when almost everyone worked on the land to the history of textiles and then coal mining.... to the Fife we know today - with chapters on the burghs, social conditions, religion and sport.
Gordon Brown and Alistair Moffat have a close look at the mining industry which was a key part of the economy of the Cowden-Gelly area for many years.
