ALLAN Stewart's Big Big Variety Show has a week long run at Edinburgh's King's Theatre later this month.

This year, in addition to the one and only Grant Stott, Allan has rounded up one hilarious magician (Mandy Muden, fresh from Britain’s Got Talent), one hilarious musician (the wonderful Kev Orkian returns with all new jokes and songs) and the rocking Soul Nation Choir, all backed by the full Andy Pickering Orchestra.

And we have a pair of tickets up for grabs for the performance on Tuesday February 26.

Allan Stewart's career began in the 1960s when he performed as a cabaret pop singer and musician.

He got his break when he appeared in Hello, Good evening, and welcome, an all-round entertainment show in which a trio of multi-talented young entertainers present gags, impressions, sketches and music.

His next big show, his 1979 STV series, The Allan Stewart Tapes, were picked up by ITV network and broadcast during spring 1980. This resulted in Thames giving Allan his own show in 1980, followed by a full series by Scottish television.

As his popularity grew, in 1990 Stewart hosted eight half-hours of comedy taped at the Stakis Tree Tops Hotel in Aberdeen. Patter Merchants was screened in the early hours of the morning and featured a host of unknowns: Mike Lancaster, Jethro, Clem Dane, Steve Womack, Gary Denis, Adrian Walsh, Billy Jeffrey, Jim Rosie, Rikki Stevens, Cheryl Taylor, Mia Carla, Bill Barclay, Eddie Rose, Hilary O'Neil, Dean Park, Dave Wolfe, Johnnie Adam, Gerald Fitzpatrick, Boothby Graffoe (who went on to success on the comedy circuit and radio), Aiden J. Harvey and Duggie Brown.

He has become someone who has continued to enjoy hosting quality shows and in Mandy Muden she is the only woman ever to combine Comedy and Magic on the UK Comedy and Corporate circuits and has been awarded The Magic Circle Carlton Award for Comedy in Magic.

She has a striking personality with a razor sharp wit and so creates a fantastic rapport, offering a great line in audience participation. She can adapt her show to any type of event and audience from an intimate gathering to a massive auditorium. Having performed all over the world from Comedy Clubs to Buckingham Palace.

Kev Orkian's standard after-dinner show is 30-40 minutes duration and features an energetic mix of hilarious stand-up comedy and sensational performances on the piano.

Kev Orkian is one of the UK’s most talented, up-and-coming comedians. A highly skilled pianist, singer and actor, he has been dubbed one of the world’s ?nest comedy pianists.
