ONCE again, Dance Connect bring their amazing annual dance showcase to Lochgelly Centre Theatre, with talented performers of all ages from three years to adult, from this local Kinross based dance school.

The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland will be presented at the Centre on March 22 and 23.

This year the school are performing the Adventures of Alice in Wonderland, followed by the usual mix of tap, jazz, street, contemporary and highland dance styles, and with the welcome addition of some music theatre students.

Dance Connect principal Rachel Webb, who was trained at the Royal Ballet School, began teaching from her home in Glenfarg in 1995, becoming a fully registered RAD teacher in 1997.

The school is based in purpose built vocational size studios in Kinross, running a full timetable of classes for pupils from aged 3 to adult. Classes are available in ballet, tap, jazz, street and Highland dance with experienced teachers in both the RAD and ISTD syllabus, who are able to train to a vocational level.

Dance Connect believes in dance for all ages and abilities and aims to teach dance to a high quality standard. Rachel and her team of teachers are able to enter pupils into examinations in dance to a vocational level if wished. The school also has an annual dance show at a local theatre which is always a great success and enjoyed by the pupils who get a chance to show case their talents.

Rachel has stated: "At Dance Connect we believe that foundation ballet skills are transferable to all styles of dance, and that dance supports the health and well-being of each individual".

Rachel has had a passion for dance from an early age starting ballet classes aged from 2 with her local teacher, where she was taken by her mother to local ballet classes in the hope they would tire her out ! Her mother quickly realised she had a real talent which Rachel pursued with passion passing all graded RAD examinations with Honours. Rachel became an RAD scholar in her home town aged 11, and went on to win the RAD scholar cup for her year aged 16. Rachel went on to study at the Royal Ballet Senior School. Rachel achieved certificates in RAD vocational examinations to Advanced level, becoming a fully registered RAD teacher in 1997.

She is backed by Becky Webb who has achieved success at RAD Ballet Intermediate Vocational Level and has achieved BA Honours in dance from Performing Arts Studio Scotland at Edinburgh College along with Susan Harvey who is a fully qualified dance teacher trained at the Royal Academy of Dance and Meghan Davies.

Meghan is currently assisting Rachel with ballet classes at Kinross. Meghan was taught by Rachel from the age of 10, developing excellent classical ballet skills and passing all RAD exams at a high level.
