QUEEN and Country will be screened at the Adam Smith Theatre, Kirkcaldy, next Friday.
Directed by John Boorman and starring Callum Turner, Caleb Landry Jones and Pat Shortt, the film looks at the post war era.
Almost 30 years on, John Boorman’s sequel and companion-piece to his Oscar-nominated autobiographical 1987 classic Hope and Glory offers a vivid snapshot of army and family life in post-war England.
A poignant reminder of a different world, Queen and Country is an entertaining and sympathetic guide to the 1950s, shot through with an eye for detail and a genuine appreciation of life’s gentle pleasures.
