From his debut 1973 smash hit The Show Must Go On to his 2006 UK No 1 remix of Thunder In My Heart, Grammy award winning, international chart-topping, British music legend, Leo Sayer, has carved an incredible worldwide career for over four decades, including selling 80 million albums.

And he will be at the Rothes Halls, Glenrothes, on 16th September.

Leo is known the world over for his massive hits which include Moonlighting, One Man Band, I Can’t Stop Loving You and the transatlantic number ones, When I Need You and You Make Me Feel Like Dancing. His new album, The Restless Years, has received rave reviews in Australia and Leo will be performing some of this new material alongside the hits and old favourites, backed by his full band.

The peak of his career came in 1977, when he scored two consecutive US number one hits, first with the disco-styled “You Make Me Feel Like Dancing” (a Grammy Award winner for the year’s best Rhythm and Blues Song), followed by the romantic ballad, “When I Need You” (1977), which reached number one in both the UK and US. Written by Albert Hammond and Carole Bayer Sager, it was his first UK 1 single (after three number two hits). It was also the first of two UK chart-toppers in a row for producer Richard Perry.

In 1979 the compilation album The Very Best of Leo Sayer became Leos’s first UK 1 LP and his seventh consecutive UK Top 20 album — although, despite his popularity in the U.S., it failed to chart there at all.

He also made cover versions of Bobby Vee’s Sonny Curtis/Jerry Allison composition, “More Than I Can Say,” his fourth UK hit, and Buddy Holly’s “Raining in My Heart” (1979) and “Orchard Road” in 1983.

In the US, three of his singles - “You Make Me Feel Like Dancing” (1977), “When I Need You” (1977) and “More Than I Can Say” (1980) - were certified gold.
