FUNBOX is the brand new show from Anya Scott-Rodgers, Gary Coupland and Kevin Macleod and they are coming to Fife this spring.

Bringing a wealth of experience from their days as performers and writers of The Singing Kettle, they have decided to create a sparkling new show for kids of all ages, from nought to ninety, maintaining the balance of traditional singalong songs and brand new compositions, but with a distinctly Scottish flavour.

Everyone’s favourite cheeky dog; Bonzo is coming along and getting ready to meet loads of new characters too.

Formed in 2014, FUNBOX aim to take their own brand of family singalong silliness across the length and breadth of Scotland and beyond. FUNBOX is a show that the whole family can join in with, packed with madcap characters, music and mirth. Packed with familiar and new songs, everyone can get involved and have a good time.

In every show the central device is the magical but mysterious FUNBOX, able to create everything you need to sing a song or have an adventure. The only trouble is it will only open up when a special key is found, but those keys have habit of getting lost. Can all the keys be found, and can you help to find them?

Anya, Kevin and Gary were having so much fun to let everything end when the Singing Kettle stopped that they thought about something similar.

Said Kevin, “we were devastated when we were told it was ending but when it became clear that the company was not for sale we decided to start our own show and carry on together and Funbox is the result.

“We have a very loyal fan base and we could not let them down so we will carry on with the great tradition of a family singalong show with lots and lots of audience participation.” Gary added, “We love touring and Funbox has allowed us to continue doing what what we love.

“We have amazing fans and we were stunned when they all got behind us when we launched our crowdfunding campaign in January.” And Anya went on, “There were some lovely stories of kids emptying their piggybanks to support us, it is very humbling and we are so grateful to everyone for their support.” Funbox’s ‘Pirates and Princesses’ tour starts at Adam Smith Theatre
