THE Fife Youth Orchestra, made up of pupils from upwards of fourteen High Schools, including Beath and Lochgelly Highs, rehearse intensively for their programme of events.

And they are due to appear at Lochgelly Centre on Monday 23rd February at 7.30pm.

In the past they have put on excellent performances with the programme including a variety of music from Kenneth Leighton’s Festive Overture and Charles Gounod’s Ballet Music from Faust to George Gershwin’s An American in Paris Suite.

The young musicians thoroughly enjoyed playing a Beatles medley on another occasion and highlights from John William’s Jurassic Park proved so hugely popular with one audience, that an encore was demanded!

Fife Youth Orchestra, is made up of young musicians from Fife schools, and they are looking forward to performing in Lochgelly Centre with a programme which will include the following:-Malcolm Arnold, Little Suite No. 2; Borodin, 1st Movement from Symphone No.2; Arturo Marquez, Danzon No. 2; Zoltan Kodaly, Intermezzo from Hary Janos.
