THIS year’s Alhambra Theatre Pantomime is the classic fairytale of Sleeping Beauty, and the production will run at the Dunfermline theatre from 10th to 27th December.

This year’s spectacular panto will star pantomime legend Dean Park, alongside Hollyoaks’ Bianca Hendrickse-Spendlove, and BBC River City’s Joyce Falconer and Sally Howitt.

“This year’s production of Sleeping Beauty will continue that tradition, and will feature a host of star names of screen and stage, including Dean, Sally and Joyce. As in previous years, audiences of all ages can expect to be dazzled by stunning sets and costumes, and will contain all the quality of previous Alhambra pantomime productions such as Jack and the Beanstalk, Aladdin and Cinderella.” Dean Park has appeared in panto from Inverness to Glasgow for over 25 years, playing the role of Pantomime Dame. A top Scottish entertainer, Dean is also known to legions of loyal fans as a singer, comedian, actor, and radio presenter. Dean has annual sell-out performances at the Glasgow Royal Concert and attracts huge audiences for his ‘Big Night Out’ spectaculars at the city’s King’s Theatre. He doubled the audiences for his weekend morning shows on Clyde 2. Dean’s three decades in showbusiness have seen him performing in venues throughout the United Kingdom, but Dean is perhaps best known for his chart hit Wee Andy Webber’s Scottish Medley.

Bianca Hendrickse-Spendlove played the character of Texas Longford in Ch4’s Hollyoaks. Bianca departed the soap in a flashback on 13th May 2013 after it was revealed her new on screen husband, Will Savage, had pushed her out of the window at the wedding venue.

Joyce Falconer is a versatile actress, performer and entertainer originating from Torry, Aberdeen, and based in Glasgow. Joyce has been seen in a variety of roles on the Scottish Stage but is best known for her former role of ‘Roisin’ in BBC soap,’ River City.

Oban-born Sally Howitt (Trial and Retribution, Bad Boys, Eastenders, Rab C Nesbitt), is best known for her role as Scarlett Adams in BBC’s River City, and will join the Sleeping Beauty cast on stage at the Alhambra Theatre this December.

This production of Sleeping Beauty is written and directed by Liam Dolan, of Ta-Da Productions. Liam, a well known Scottish Actor and Entertainer, is famous for roles such as, High Road (STV) Taggart (STV) Trial & Error (CH 4) However, after winning The BBC Talent search in November 2000, Liam beat 14,000 people to become the new face of CBBC, where he presented the Breakfast Show. In the summer of 2002 he moved to ITV presenting “DIGGIT” on GMTV. Since becoming a children’s television presenter, Liam has appeared on numerous television programmes including Stars of Tomorow, Points of View, and Celebrity Ready Steady Cook and more recently as a presenter on ITV’s This Morning.

Liam Dolan added, “I’m thrilled to be involved with the Alhambra pantomime Sleeping Beauty this year.

“The pantomime is the traditional family story, complete with a great set, fantastic costumes and exceptionally talented cast. Dean Park, Bianca Hendrickse-Spendlove, Joyce Falconer and Sally Howitt have all been specially selected for principal roles. I’m genuinely excited to be working with such a wonderful cast, and the show is sure to be one of the best pantos in the country this winter delighting audiences both old and young alike”.
