THE CLASSIC fairytale of Snow White is coming to Dunfermline’s Carnegie Hall this Christmas - but with a special Scottish twist.

Families should expect a “magical, mystical Christmas adventure,” said director Jonathan Stone.

The show will run from the 28th November until the 24th December.

So far only two of the cast members have been announced.

Lauren Grant, who has been part of many Adam Smith Theatre shows such as Sleeping Beauty, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast and more, is playing Snow White.

Pamela Byrne will play her nemesis, the evil Queen Vultura. Pamela is best known for her role as hairdresser Hayley McCrone in the BBC soap River City. Speaking to TimesOut, Lauren said, “I am very much looking forward to playing Snow White at the Carnegie Hall.

“People can expect to have a wonderfully magical time viewing Snow White – it will be a beautiful Christmas show for Dunfermline.” Pamela added, “This is the first time that I am playing a baddie and I am so excited to start rehearsals.

“I am really excited to be back again after playing the Blue Fairy in last year’s Pinocchio.

“I love the theatre and Fife audiences are always so supportive.

“I have seen my costumes and they look fantastic so I can’t wait!” Director Jonathan Stone continued, “The show is set in a winter land forest in Scotland.

“There is a real Scottish twist to the story with highland dwarves who all have Scottish names.

“It is not a pantomime in the traditional sense and the story is adapted slightly.

“It is a beautiful stage set with the castle and forest and everything is moving.

“Pamela is actually playing two parts, the evil queen and the mirror which is done by video so that will be very interesting and something quite different.” Adult tickets cost £24.50 with children and concession tickets costing £11.50.
