ON Friday 17th October Showaddywaddy, Europe’s premier exponents of retro-inspired rock & roll, bring their acclaimed live show to Rothes Halls, in Glenrothes.

They may be in their 4th decade, but the Leicester lads still have fire in their bellies, reflected in a performance that is as bold and infectious as ever!

Showaddywaddy have a record that speaks for itself. They dominated the British charts in the late 70s, enjoying 23 UK Top 40 hits, including the enduring Three Steps to Heaven and Hey Rock ‘n’ Roll, and spending a quite amazing 209 weeks on the singles chart.

Their solitary number one, Under the Moon of Love, sold close to one million copies, while their album Greatest Hits 1976-78 was the 1978 Christmas number one.

Staggeringly, the band enjoyed in excess of 50 Top of the Pops performances, as well as a notable Royal Variety performance – the Queen Mother actually requested to meet the band after the show! The continuing demand for Showaddywaddy in the 21st century is a testament to both the amazing success they have enjoyed throughout the last 4 decades and to their continued reputation as incredible live performers.

Dave Bartram recently stood down as lead singer, but continues to manage the band, who retain a core of original members including founders Romeo Challenger and Rod Deas, plus Paul Dixon.

The line-up is completed by recent additions Andy Pelos (lead vocalist), Rob Hewins (drums/guitar/vocals) and Dean Loach (keyboard/vocals).

Showaddywaddy may be best remembered for their incredible string of hits in the late 70s, but this is no mere nostalgia revue.

On Friday October 17th at Rothes Halls, their fresh, vital live show will have you rock and rolling all night! Tickets are £20, and there are a limited number of pre-theatre meals at the venue, which can be booked in advance for the bargain price of £10.
