COWDENBEATH club captain John Armstrong is ready to return to action tomorrow night after four months on the sidelines.

He last played at the end of September and a niggling knock which has badly affected his mobility has been slow to react to treatment.

However, he has been stepping up training and is ready to take the field in a friendly game against Spartans at Ainslie Park on Wednesday.

The big centre-half has been missed by teh Blue Brazil but manager Jimmy Nicholl is hopeful 'Chopper' will soon be available for selection.

He said yesterday (Monday), "It has been tough for John but he has been working his way back and will be in the side to fave Spartans on Wednesday.

"With the Development League starting again soon this will give him more pitch time to tune-up in the coming weeks.

"Hopefully John will be fit for a key stage of the season."

Kenny Adamson will continue his come-back at Spartans and Dean Brett will look to get another 90 minutes under his belt there.
