WITH Cowdenbeath and Livingston both losing at the weekend and Alloa and Dumbarton picking up points, the sides are needing all three when Livi come to Central Park on Saturday.

Alloa produced the shock of the day by grabbing a point at Ibrox, so a win over Livingston is crucial for the Blue Brazil.

Cowdenbeath are bottom, a point behind the Almondvale team, and they simply have to beat them this weekend.

Manager Jimmy Nicholl was very unhappy with the way injuries decimated his team at Stark’s Park, with three changes having to be made by the break, after Jon Robertson picked up a knock in the warm-up.

“In all my years in the game I have never seen so many injuries before half-time” said Mr Nicholl.

“It started with Jon robertson straining his groin in the warm-up then we lost Callum Gallagher and Dean Brett, and changes had to be made and all of a sudden it was a different team we had out there.

“But still we did well and scored a very good goal and from that point on we were making some good openings.

“Ahead at half-time we then lost Craig Sutherland at the interval with a knee knock and in the second period we started to lose our fluency. Nat Wedderburn then suffered a dead leg and it hindered him at their second goal.” He added, “That goal was a real blow and try as we might we could not get an equaliser and from looking like winning the game we ended up losing, which was bitterly disappointing.” The manager will have Declan Hughes fit for the Livi game and Gallagher but there are big doubt over Brett, Robertson and Sutherland.

“Declan has come on well from his ankle injury against Rangers and I think he will be available as will Callum but it could be Saturday before we know who of the others can play.

“Clearly it is a game we have to look to win but I would like to think that we can do just that.

“We have not had the best of luck over the past few games but the spirit is good amongst the players and we can win it.

“We will give all of the injury victims the chance to recover and be part of the squad for a very important fixture”.
