East Fife A 2, Cowdenbeath A 2.

A LAST gasp equaliser denied a young Cowden side all three points in last week’s Reserve League Cup derby game at New Bayview, writes Andy Mullen.

After a goalless first-half, which produced few goal scoring opportunities for either side, Cowden opened the scoring on 69 minutes when Liam CALLAGHAN fired a 25 yard shot into the top corner of the home net.

The lead only lasted two minutes, however, as Bruce INKANGO broke through to fire home an angled shot.

With 77 minutes gone Callaghan turned provider sending a corner into the home box for Jamie PYPER (pictured) to slot home from close range.

A minute later the Methil side were unlucky not to level when Daryl Falconer saw a shot bounce off the inside of the post.

Craig Johnston then saw a shot tipped off the bar by ‘keeper Connor Shaw but with the last kick of the ball INKANGO fired home an angled shot to deny the young Central Parkers all three points.
