Hibees cup test one to relish
SPL strugglers Hibernian come to Central Park in the fourth round of the William Hill Scottish Cup on Saturday with Cowdenbeath eyeing a giant killing act.
The Hibees have not won a game since October and new manager Pat Fenlon has collected just one point from three league games so they are bound to be wary of the Barrs Irn Bru Second Division leaders who are unbeaten at home this season.
Cowden player/manager Colin Cameron, is relishing the challenge this weekend's all-ticket clash will provide. He told Sporting Times, "Hibs may be having a tough ntime at present but they still have some very good plaeyrs and remember there is a full division between the clubs.
"Our team is developing well but this will be a real tough test for our young side. Hopefully we can keep things tight in the early stages and maybe nick a goal and ask them some serious questions.
"If we can go out there, express ourselves and put on a good performance then I could not ask any more of our players."
With the BBC television cameras covering the game it will certainly be a big stage for the Blue Brazil.
The manager was very pleased with holiday win over East Fife on Monday snd with the method and effort put in by his players.
"For long spells there was not much between the sides but in the closing stages our fitness levels proved decisive," he added.
"The fact that they had not played for four weeks saw them fall away and we really took advantage to score some good goals.
"Over the piece we defended well, scored cracking goals and with Arbroath losing at Dumbarton the win saw us go six points clear at the top of the table so it was a good day ." With Kal Naismith returning to Rangers and Jordon Morton going back to hearts the manager will have to makle at least two changes in his squad for this weekend.
"With Craig Winter and Kenny Adamson back available we have options for the cup-tie," he said.
"But I will be looking to replace Kal and Jordan with loan deals and I will be definitely looking for at least one experienced player as soon as possible."
Defender/midfielder Thomas O'Brien will be out for at least six weeks with his foot injury.
