Win at Stirling is a must
COWDENBEATH boss Colin Cameron realised his side underachieved against Arbroath in Saturday's big showdown and is looking for an improvement against the Barrs Irn Bru Second Division's bottom side this Saturday.
Cowden have drawn their last three games and the player/boss knows they must get back to winning ways soon or lose their top billing.
Albion are still searching for a new boss after the dismissal of Jocky Scott last week and Cowden really need to go to Forthbank and win. Said the manager this week, "We really did not play at all well against Abroath. Our passing was poor at times and we did not ask them enough questions.
"On the plus side we did not lose the game, we recorded another shut-out and are still top of the table so there were positives to take out of a disappointing performance.
"And all fourteen players used showed that they are battlers by the way they went out there and competed hard against a very good side."
He added, "We had a couple of very good chances but to be fair a draw was a pretty fair result and now we have to concentrate on going to Stirling Albion and coming home with all three points."
Aware that Albion's players will be keen to impress, whoever takes on the job at Stirling, he went on, "The Albion's players will be looking to show any potential new boss that they can do a job for the club so it will be no easy task through there.
"I would say that if we can get back to playing the sort of football we were turning on a couple of weeks ago we can go there and get the win we want but we will need the same team effort which denied Arbroath at key times on Saturday."
Right-back David Cowan picked up a knock against Arbroath but should be fit for the Albion match.
It could be that Kal Naismith and Jordan Morton, who came on from the bench against the Lichties, will be knocking on the door for this Saturday for a start and if Cowan does not make it Dean Brett would be a likely starter.
