WITH colder weather due tonight, Cowdenbeath's directors were delighted to see a number of volunteers turn up on Thursday to to put the frost protection sheets go down on the Central Park pitch in a bid to guarantee tomorrow's important Ladbrokes League 2 match with Edinburgh City goes ahead.

If the match is won Cowden will get off the bottom of the table for the first time since September.

While the weather has been reasonably mild colder air moving in has been predicted by forecasters for tonight and into the weekend.

Said director David Allan: "Many thanks to all those who turned up today and helped put the frost covers on at Central Park - a great effort.

"We will now monitor the weather and would provisionally flag up that we would be very grateful again if volunteers could also stand by for removing the covers on Saturday morning - timing to be confirmed once we have better idea of weather conditions early on Saturday".
