Forfar Athletic 20s 4, Cowdenbeath 20's 1.

DESPITE taking the lead early in the second-half, the young Cowden side went down to a second successive defeat at Station Park on Wednesday night.

After a goalless opening 45 minutes Jack COWAN broke the deadlock four minutes into the second half slipping the ball under former Cowden keeper Grant Adam.

The Loons, who were looking for a four successive win, however, scored four goals in the closing 30 minutes.

Matthew AITKEN bundled the ball home from close range with 62 minutes gone following a long throw in.

Two goals in a five minute spell then killed the game as a contest.

Firstly Sam CLARK fired home from the edge of the box with 70 minutes gone, then five minutes later Michael KENNEDY blasted home a free kick, also from the edge of the box.

As the game went deep into injury time the Loons added a fourth from the penalty spot with AITKEN getting his second goal of the night.

A disappointing night for the Cowdenbeath youngsters which had promised a lot early in the second period.
