Alloa Athletic U20s 3 Cowdenbeath U20s 0.

THE Cowden youngsters went down to a third successive defeat at the Indodrill Stadium last Monday night.

Alloa opened the scoring in 13 minutes when Isaac Layne centred the ball and despite Jordan Leslie’s best efforts the ball fell to John CUNNINGHAM who slotted home from six yards.

The Wasps, featuring both Layne and Scott Hynd, who had recently returned from loan spells in League Two with Stirling and Montrose respectively, looked the more likely side to score but Cowdenbeath did have a few chances in the opening period with both Lyle Kellichan and Charlie Denton denied by 'keeper Wilson.

However, on the stroke of half time LAYNE went on a solo run and sent a low shot into the bottom corner of the net to double the home side’s advantage.

The second-half opened with Wilson sending a Denton corner just over while sub Sutherland went on a run but his shot was blocked by the keeper's legs.

In 61 minutes the scoring for the night was completed when Adam MARTIN fired in a shot from the edge of the box which flew into the top corner of the net.
