KELTY Amateur Boxing Club competitors put on a dazzling display of boxing at the Airth Castle Show and recorded four wins out of four contests.

The first Kelty boxer in the ring was 14-year-old 57kg competitor Paul Greenhorn, who was up against a formidable opponent in the 4 Isles ABC boxer Elliott O'Donnell.

Paul used his fast hand speed boxing skills to come out a comfortable winner.

Next Kelty boy to box was 16-year-old 67kg boxer Danny Tarling. Danny came up against tricky Southpaw William McDonald (Denbeath). Danny used his strength and power punching to come out a winner on points.

Next in the ring for Kelty was 75kg senior boxer Mark Docherty. He got in close to put together some good combinations which led to him coming out a winner on points.

The top of the bill bout was Kelty's multi-titled 64kg youth boxer Fraser Gorn, up against a full senior internationalist Jason Gaston of Craigmillar ABC. This bout was a cracker from the start, with both lads giving it 100 per cent, but by the end of the bout Fraser's hand speed and combinations together with his high work-rate throughout the bout, made him a winner on a points decision.

There was also another Kelty lad boxing in an exhibition bout, Michael Kerr.

Although Michael had only had two bouts he was up against a much more experienced and older boxer in Brodie Robertson of Craigmillar ABC. Michael put on a good display and did himself and the club proud.

Kelty, as well as having their usual boxing lessons, are also doing free beginners non-contact sessions which started on Monday, from 5.45-6.45pm.

Anyone between the ages of 11 to 17-years-old are welcome to attend by calling 07833 575289 or turn up at the gym.
