Andrew is out to cause 'Mayhem'
COWDENBEATH teenager, Andrew Marshall, is determined to become a full-time professional wrestler.
Andrew (19), from Sinclair Drive, has been a fan of the sport since he first saw it on television at the age of just two.
He is now one of the young talents being nurtured by the Scottish Professional Wrestling Academy and hopes that he could even one day catch the eyes of the WWE scouts in the UK.
His next big event will be on Saturday 28th January when he will fight at Alloa Town Hall. The former St Columba's High School pupil started to get serious about wrestling when he was 12 years-old.
He said, "I really enjoy the buzz you get from wrestling and my aim is to become a regular winner on the Scottish scene.
"The SPWA is recognised as the best wrestling school in Scotland so I know that I am getting the best advice.
"I look forward to each fight I get and the bout next week at Alloa will be a very tough one. My opponent will be Andy Wild, from Glenrothes, who is among the best wrestlers in Scotland. He is a very technical grappler so I know that I will have my work cut out, but win lose or draw, I know that I will learn a lot from the contest."
The Alloa show will be promoted by Premier British Wrestling's Ross Watson who has wrestled in the USA, Spain, Germany, Denmark and the UK. After putting on big shows in Glasgow, Greenock, Barrhead, Maybole and Larbert he has staged a couple of big promotions at Alloa and has a big show in the pipeline at the Glasgow Pavilion in March. Andrew, who fights under the ring name of Max Mayhem, says that the Scottish scene is getting ever better and he wants to be a part of the developing picture.
Added Andrew, who trains at Mickey Baird's gym, in Cowdenbeath, "I would love to be a full-time competitor on the Scottish scene in the months and years ahead." .
