Cowdenbeath's Blue Brazil Boys Club has been recognised for its valuable contribution to grassroots football.

The club was recently Quality Mark accredited by the Scottish Football Association.

Working closely with Fife Council's SFA Football Development Officer, Davie Honeyman, the Club worked hard to raise the bar in the areas of coach and player development, management, administration, welfare and planning.

Davie, SFA Football Development Officer Fife Council said, "The Quality Mark Accreditation Scheme recognises proactive clubs and schools working to increase youth and community participation.

"Blue Brazil has kids playing football at all age groups in Fife and strives to be one of Fife's largest clubs. Hopefully with the plans in place to have their own facility in the near future, the club will go from strength to strength."

Joe Reid, chairman, Blue Brazil Boys Club said, "The club is delighted to achieve the Standard Quality Mark.

"The committee restructured the club a year ago and decided to go for the Quality Mark with the help of Fife Council's SFA Football Development Officer. It has brought our club together and has given us a good foundation for the future."
