A DEVELOPER has dipped into its pockets to kit out Cowdenbeath’s bright young hopes for the future.

The Blue Brazil’s youth teams will be joining their big brothers in style thanks to a new kit sponsorship deal with Kennedy Renewables.

The owners of Little Raith Wind farm have stepped in to provide a complete new set of strips for four of the Cowdenbeath Academy Teams at under-14, under-15, under-17 and under-19 level while all members of the coaching staff will also be receiving new jackets.

Cowdenbeath currently have over 80 youngsters and 12 coaches in their youth set up. The under-13 team currently has their own sponsor but they too will receive backing by Kennedy Renewables next season.

Thanks to the Kennedy sponsorship the Club took the decision to change their youth team kit of yellow strips, blue shorts and yellow socks and instead they will now play in the same Cowdenbeath FC traditional colours as the first team with blue shirts and white shorts.

The one difference will be the youth teams will wear blue socks.

Commenting on the deal, Jonny Kennedy, managing director of Kennedy Renewables said, “We’re delighted to have signed this agreement with our local club. I’m sure the boys will look really smart in their new kit and we’re delighted that the ‘young Blue Brazil’ and our logo will be seen all around Scotland as the teams go on their travels.

“We hope to build on this connection with the football club as we already enjoy a good relationship with the communities around Little Raith in Auchtertool, Cowdenbeath, Lochgelly and Lumphinnans.” Donald Findlay, chairman of Cowdenbeath F.C. said, “Cowdenbeath Football Club is delighted to form this partnership with a locally-based company such as Kennedy Renewables.

“We both see the benefits of investing in young people and this sponsorship represents the latest development in the investment into our youth system.

“Our Youth Teams start at under-13s and compete against other professional teams across Scotland.

“Reverting to our traditional blue colours means that our youth players will now have the same kit as the first team where it is hoped many of them will end up playing.” The Kennedy family has strong sporting connections. Brian Kennedy, Jonny’s father, bought the Sale Sharks rugby team back in 2000.

Since then he has made a considerable investment in the club and also made a bid for Rangers in 2012.
